Lesson 87: 〜直す

Usage:

Polite Form of Verb(drop the ます in the end) + 直す

Meaning:

「〜直す」means “to do something once again”.

Example Sentences:

（1）書き直してください。
Please write it once again.

（2）考え直したらどうですか。
How about thinking about it once again.

（3）先生は問題を説明し直すことを嫌がらなかった。
The teacher didn’t mind explaining the problem again.

（4）後で掛け直す。
I’m gonna have to call you back.

（5）会社を立て直すために新しい指導者が必要だ。
We need a new leader to pull our company together.

（6）もう１度人生をやり直すとすれば音楽家になりたい。
If I were to live again, I would like to be a musician.

（7）この案をボスに提出する前に書き直しておこう。
Let’s get this proposal down in black and white before we submit it to the boss.

（8）あなたの都合のいい日時にミーティングを組み直してくださいませんか。
Could you please re-schedule the meeting at your convenience?

（9）２０分後に電話を掛け直してもいいですか。
Can I call you back in twenty minutes?

（10）彼女はもう１台車を買うことを考え直してる。
She is having second thoughts about buying another car.
