Lesson 41: 〜だけでなく/だけじゃなく

Usage:

①Verb(Dictionary Form, Past Tense Form, Negative Form) + だけでなく/だけじゃなく
②i-Adj + だけでなく/だけじゃなく
③na-Adj + な + だけでなく/だけじゃなく
④Noun + だけでなく/だけじゃなく

Meaning:

「～だけでなく/だけじゃなく」means “not only…but also”, “as well as…”.

Example Sentences:

（1）彼はかっこいいだけでなく、頭もいいです。
He is not only handsome but also smart.

（2）彼は勉強だけでなく運動も好きだ。
He likes sports as well as study.

（3）彼は知識だけでなく経験も豊かである。
He has experience as well as knowledge.

（4）私は彼の小説だけでなく詩も読んだ。
I read not only his novels but also his poems.

（5）私の父はタバコを吸うだけでなくお酒も飲む。
Besides smoking, my father drinks.

（6）私の兄だけでなく、私にも責任がある。
I as well as my brother am to blame.

（7）君だけでなく私も間違っている。
Not only are you wrong, but I am wrong too.

（8）スポーツだけじゃなく、音楽も好きだ。
I love music as well as sports.

（9）君だけじゃなく僕も悪いんだ。
We are both to blame.

（10）うわべだけの知識だけじゃなく、本物の実力を身につける必要があります。
You have to acquire real skills, not just superficial knowledge.
