Usage:

Te Form of Verb + ほしい

Negative Form of Verb + で + ほしい

 

Meaning:

I hope…(used to express that you want or you don’t want somebody to do something)

 

Examples:

あなたにわかってほしい。

I hope you can understand.

 

かいしないでほしい。

Don’t get me wrong.

 

Note:

If you want to point out the person, you can use に.
