Lesson 66: 〜てみせる

Usage:

Te Form of Verb + みせる

Meaning:

「〜てみせる」has two meanings.
①do something in front of other people.
②express your will.

Example Sentences:

（1）彼は私たちの前で歌ってみせた。
He sang a song in front of us.

（2）今回は、絶対に合格してみせる。
I will definitely pass the exam this time.

（3）石にかじりついても成功してみせる。
I will succeed at any cost.

（4）私はどんな困難にも耐えてみせる。
I’m sure I can overcome any difficulty.

（5）どんな手を使ってでも勝ちとってみせる。
I’ll win no matter what it takes.

（6）彼は勝って見せると言ったが確かに勝った。
He said he would win and he did, too.

（7）アルベルさんは自分の能力を試すため、何か新しいことをいつもやってみせます。
Albert is always trying his hand at something to test his own skill.

（8）必ず期待に応えてみせます。
I’ll never fail to meet your expectations.
