Usage:
Te Form of Verb + 以来
Meaning:
「〜て以来(いらい)」means “Since…”. (The status remain unchanged since something happened before) |
Example Sentences:
(1)彼は入学して以来、一度も休んだことはない。 He has never been absent since he enrolled. (2)彼女は結婚して以来、一度も笑ったことはない。 She has never been laughing since she got married. (3)ここに来て以来、生活は単調そのものだ。 Life has been so flat since I came here. (4)ダイエットして以来、彼女はずいぶん体重が減った。 She’s lost a lot of weight since she went on a diet. (5)今世紀が始まって以来、多くの進歩があった。 Many improvements have been made since this century began. (6)結婚して以来、彼はマイホーム主義になった。 Since we got married, he’s become a devoted family man. (7)彼女は当地に来て以来6回引っ越しをした。 She has moved house six times since she came here. (8)物心ついて以来はこんな美しい夜を見たことがない。 It’s the most beautiful night I’ve seen since I can remember. (9)高校を卒業して以来彼は何もしていない。 Since he graduated from high school, he hasn’t been doing anything. (10)3年前に東京へ来て以来ここに住んでいる。 I came to Tokyo three years ago and have been living here ever since. |
