Lesson 77: 〜てくれる/てくださる

Usage:

Te Form of Verb + くれる
Te Form of Verb + くれます
Te Form of Verb + くださる
Te Form of Verb + くださいます


Meaning:

Somebody does something for me.

Example Sentences:

ゴミはしてきてくれた
Have you taken out the garbage?

ちちほんてくれた
My father bought me the book.

彼女かのじょ新車しんしゃてくれた
She gave me a look at her new car.

かれわたし一晩ひとばんてくれた
He accommodated me with a night’s lodging.

かれわたし部屋へやそうてくれました
He cleaned my room for me.

ははわたしあたらしいドレスをつくってくれました
My mother made me a new dress.

トムががみをフランス翻訳ほんやくてくれました
Tom translated the letter into French for me.

先生せんせいきょうしょてくださいました
My teacher lent me the textbook.

昨日きのうあなたがしてくださったことに感謝かんしゃしています。
I appreciate what you did yesterday.

このはなおくてくださったのはとうさんかもしれません。
It may have been Mr Sato who sent these flowers.

Note:

①〜てくださる is more respectful than 〜てくれる,so 〜てくださる is often used to express that your superior do something for you.
②The subject is the person who do something for you,you can not use 〜てくれる/てくださる to express that you do something for others.Instead,you can use 〜てあげる/てさしあげる to express that you do something for others.
