Lesson 75: 〜てもらう/ていただく

Usage:

Te Form of Verb + もらう/いただく


Meaning:

「〜てもらう/ていただく」means “somebody does something for me”.

Note:
You can use 「てもらえる/てもらえますか/ていただけます/ていただけますか」to ask somebody do something for you.

Example Sentences:

なかはいてもらって
Let him in.

けいしゅうてもらった
I had my watch mended.

わたし写真しゃしんてもらった
I had my photograph taken.

かれけいなおてもらった
I had my watch mended by him.

ペンてもらえる
Can I borrow a pen?

ドアをてもらえる
Can you open the door?

かいていただきたい
I would like you to understand.

まえおしていただけますか
May I have your name, please?

まどていただけますか
Would you please shut the windows?

写真しゃしんていただけますか
Could you take our picture?

Notes:

①You use に or から to express the people that do something for you.
②You can only use から to express the organization that do something for you.
③いただく is more humble than もらう,so いただく is often used to express that your superior do something for you.
