Lesson 75: 〜てもらう/ていただく

Usage:

Te Form of Verb + もらう/いただく

Meaning:

「〜てもらう/ていただく」means “somebody does something for me”.

Note:
You can use 「てもらえる/てもらえますか/ていただけます/ていただけますか」to ask somebody do something for you.

Example Sentences:

中なかに入はいってもらって。
Let him in.

時と計けいを修しゅう理りしてもらった。
I had my watch mended.

私わたしは写真しゃしんを撮とってもらった。
I had my photograph taken.

彼かれに時と計けいを直なおしてもらった。
I had my watch mended by him.

ペン貸かしてもらえる？
Can I borrow a pen?

ドアを開あけてもらえる？
Can you open the door?

理り解かいしていただきたい。
I would like you to understand.

名な前まえを教おしえていただけますか。
May I have your name, please?

窓まどを閉しめていただけますか？
Would you please shut the windows?

写真しゃしんを撮とっていただけますか。
Could you take our picture?

Notes:

①You use に or から to express the people that do something for you.
②You can only use から to express the organization that do something for you.
③いただく is more humble than もらう，so いただく is often used to express that your superior do something for you.
