Lesson 18: 〜なくてもいい

Usage:

Negative Form of Verb (drop the ない in the end) + なくてもいい

Meaning:

「～なくてもいい」means “don’t need to…”; “don’t have to…”.

Example Sentences:

急いそがなくてもいい。
You don’t need to hurry.

答こたえなくてもいい。
You don’t have to answer.

私わたしはここにいなくてもいい。
I don’t have to be here.

速はやく走はしらなくてもいい。
You don’t have to run fast.

最さい後ごまで待またなくてもいい。
You don’t have to stay to the end.

明日あしたは来こなくてもいい。
You don’t have to come tomorrow.

言いい訳わけしなくてもいい。
You don’t have to make excuses.

大声おおごえを出ださなくてもいい。聞きこえるよ。
You don’t have to shout. I can hear you.

昼ひるごはんを持もってこなくてもいい。
You don’t have to bring your lunch.

来らい週しゅうはボストンに行いかなくてもいい。
You don’t need to go to Boston next week.
