Lesson 36: 〜たり/〜たり〜たり

Usage:

Noun + だったり
na-Adj + だったり
i-Adj (drop the い in the end) + かったり
Past Tense Form of Verb + り


Meaning:

「~たり/~たり~たり」means “sometimes… and sometimes…”, “do… and do…”. It is used to list one or more examples.

Example Sentences:

私わたしは朝あさ、お茶ちゃだったりコーヒーだったり飲のみます。
In the morning, sometimes I drink tea, and sometimes I drink coffee.

私わたしは彼女かのじょのことが好すきだったり嫌きらいだったりします。
Sometimes I like her, and sometimes I hate her.

最近さいきんは寒さむかったり暑あつかったりします。
Sometimes It is cold, and sometimes it is hot recently.

私わたしは週しゅう末まつ、ゲームをやったり本ほんを読よんだりします。
Sometimes I play games, and sometimes I read books on weekends.

私わたしは時じ間かんがあるとき映えい画がを見みたりします。
I watch movies sometimes when I have time.

場ば合あいによるがな、そうだったり、そうでなかったり。
Depending on the case; sometimes it is so, sometimes not.

暇ひまな時ときは映えい画がを見みたり、音楽おんがくを聞きいたりします。
In my free time, I watch movies and listen to music.

健康けんこうのために、野や菜さいを食たべたり魚さかなを食たべたりしている。
For my health, I eat vegetables and fish.

レポートを書かくために、インターネットで調しらべたり図と書しょ館かんで調しらべたりした。
I searched on the internet and in the library to write a report.

彼女かのじょはフランス語ごを話はなしたり書かいたりする能のう力りょくがある。
She has the ability to speak and write French.
