Lesson 20: 〜なければならない

Usage:

①Negative Form of Verb(change ない to なければならない・なければいけない)
②na-Adj + で + なければならない・なければいけない
③Negative Form of i-Adj(change ない to なければならない・なければいけない)
④Noun + で + なければならない・なければいけない


Meaning:

「~なければならない・なければいけない」means “have to…”, “must…”.

Note:
「〜なければなりません」is the polite form of 「~なければならない」.
「〜なければいけません」is the polite form of「〜なければいけない」.

Example Sentences:

内緒ないしょにしなければならない
We have to keep it a secret.

すぐにしゅっぱつなければならない
We have to start at once.

までになければならない
You must be here by five.

かれらに警告けいこくなければなりません
I must warn them.

わたしたちは健康けんこうなければなりません
We must be healthy.

からだあらなければいけない
You must wash your body.

いえかえなければいけない
I must go home.

ぼくなければいけない
I have to wait.

わたしたちはすわなければいけません
We must sit down.

トムははやきしなければいけません
Tom has to get up early.
