Usage:

Past Tense Form of Verb + ばかり


Meaning:

「Past Tense Form of Verb + ばかり」means “just did something; did something just now”.

Example Sentences:

ちちこくたばかりだ。
My father has just returned from abroad.

ろくたばかりだよ。
It’s just past six.

列車れっしゃいまたばかりです。
The train has just arrived here.

かれこうちょうになったばかりだ。
He has just become a principal.

あたらしいジャケットをたばかりです。
I just bought myself a new jacket.

わたしたばかりです。
I got up just now.

トムはちょうど昨日きのう屋根やねしゅうたばかりだ。
Tom fixed the roof of his house just yesterday.

デイビッドは哲学てつがく新書しんしょしゅっぱんたばかりだ。
David has just published a new book on philosophy.

今日きょう部屋へやそうをしたばかりなのに、なんでこんなにらかってるの?
I just cleaned my room today. Why is it so messy?

今日きょう銀行ぎんこうからろしたばかりで、万札まんさつしかわせがないんだよ。
I just withdrew some money today from the bank, so I only have 10 000 yen bills.
