Lesson 21: 〜すぎる

Usage:

①i-Adj（drop the い in the end）+ すぎる
②na-Adj + すぎる
③Polite Form of Verb（drop the ます in the end）+ すぎる

Meaning:

「～すぎる」means “the degree is too…”.

Note:
「〜すぎます」is the polite form of 「～すぎる」.

Example Sentences:

このコートは高たかすぎる！
This coat is too expensive!

この質問しつもんは難むずかしすぎる。
This question is too difficult.

私わたしは昨日きのう食たべすぎた。
I ate too much yesterday.

彼女かのじょは弱よわすぎる。
She is too weak.

このスカートは長ながすぎます。
This skirt is too long.

スープは熱あつすぎます。
The soup is too hot.

トムはテレビを見みすぎます。
Tom watches too much TV.

このネクタイは派手はですぎますよ。
I’m afraid this tie is too loud.

この帽ぼう子しは小ちいさすぎます。別べつのものを見みせてください。
This cap is too small. Please show me another.

駅えきまで歩あるくには遠とおすぎますから、バスに乗のりましょう。
It’s too far to walk to the station, so let’s take a bus.
