Lesson 50: （もし）…ても

Usage:

①（もし）+ Te Form of Verb + も
②（もし）+ Negative Form of Verb (change the い in the end to く) + ても

Meaning:

「（もし）…ても」means “even though…”.

Example Sentences:

もし失敗しっぱいしても大だい丈じょう夫ぶです。
It’s okay even though you are failed.

できなくてもいいです。
It’s okay even though you can’t do it.

もし、雨あめが降ふっても、試し合あいは中ちゅう止ししません。
The match will not be canceled even if it rains.

もし今いま、１億おく円えんをもらっても、使つかい方かたがわからない。
Even if I get 100 million yen now, I don’t know how to use it.

先生せんせいに相談そうだんしても、何なにも解決かいけつしてくれませんでした。
Nothing was solved even though I consulted with my teacher.

明日あしたは雨あめが降ふってもピクニックに行いきますよ。
Tomorrow I will go on a picnic even if it rains.

会社かいしゃにメールをしても、返へん事じが返かえってこない。
I don’t get a reply even if I send an email to the company.

来くるなと言いっても彼女かのじょは来くるよ。
She’ll come even if you tell her not to.

彼女かのじょは電車でんしゃが見みえなくなってもそこに立たっていた。
She stood there even after the train was out of sight.

彼女かのじょは授じゅ業ぎょうが始はじまっても友達ともだちに話はなし続つづけた。
She went on talking to her friend even after the class began.
