Lesson 30: 〜までに

Usage:

Dictionary Form of Verb + までに
Noun + までに


Meaning:

「~までに」means “by…; by the time of…; before…”.
It’s used to indicate time limit.

Example Sentences:

10じゅうまでにます。
I’ll come by 10.

何歳なんさいまでに結婚けっこんしたい?
By what age do you want to get married?

こんしゅうまつまでにとどくはずです。
You should receive them by the end of the week.

明日あしたまでによういたします。
I’ll have it ready for you by tomorrow.

かれとうちゃくするまでに列車れっしゃしゅっぱつしているでしょう。
The train will have started by the time he arrives.

ピーターはしゃとして成功せいこうするまでにおおくの困難こんなんえてきた。
Peter overcame a lot of difficulties before succeeding as a doctor.

要約ようやくようまでにていしゅつしなさい。
Please send in your summary by Tuesday.

かれがすっかり回復かいふくするまでにだいぶかんがかかるだろう。
It will be a long time before he has fully recovered.

列車れっしゃしゅっぱつするまでにすこかんがある。
There is a little time before the train departs.

It will be three months before our house is completed.
