Lesson 78: やる

Usage:

Person/Animal/Plant + に + Noun + を + やる


Meaning:

「~やる」means “to give something to…”.
Usually, it is used as Dictionary Form(やる), not Polite Form(やります).

Example Sentences:

ドルをやる
I’ll give you five dollars.

わたしいぬみずやる
I give water to the dog.

毎月まいつきあまるほどのかねやるよ。
I give you plenty of money each month.

部下ぶかほんやる
I give subordinate the book.

みずやる
I give tree the water.

このパソコンいらないから、やるよ。
I don’t need this computer. I will give it to you.

いぬえさやるのをわすれた。
I forgot to feed my dog.

ハトにえさやるのがきです。
I like to feed the pigeons.

彼女かのじょかれけいやった
She gave him a watch.

彼女かのじょはそのネコに牛乳ぎゅうにゅうやった
She gave milk to the cat.

Note:

やる is used to express that you give something to your subordinate.
It can also used to express that you give something to animals or plants.
