Lesson 73: 〜てあげる/てさしあげる

Usage:

Te Form of Verb + あげる/さしあげる


Meaning:

「〜てあげる/てさしあげる」means “to do something for somebody”.

Example Sentences:

おしてあげない
I won’t tell you.

つだてあげるよ。
I will help you.

トムをてあげて
Let Tom in.

道案内みちあんないてあげますよ。
I’ll show you the way.

ふんてあげるよ。
I’ll wait you five minutes.

ほかのをてあげますよ。
I’ll buy you another one.

ちゃてあげるね。
I’ll make tea for you.

彼女かのじょほんとなりひとにもせてあげた
She shared her book with her neighbor.

かれざってあげました
I bought him a magazine.

彼女かのじょむすめのためにパソコンをってあげた
She got her daughter a personal computer.

Notes:

①Don’t use 〜てあげる/てさしあげる directly to your superior,it is rude!
Instead,you can use something like
ペンをおしします。
す→します(delete ます)→お + し + します
 
②But it will be perfectly fine to use it when you are talking with others what you did.(See the example below.)

先生せんせいえきまでくるまおくてさしあげた
I drove the teacher to the station.
