Lesson 73: 〜てあげる/てさしあげる

Usage:

Te Form of Verb + あげる/さしあげる

Meaning:

「〜てあげる/てさしあげる」means “to do something for somebody”.

Example Sentences:

教おしえてあげない。
I won’t tell you.

手て伝つだってあげるよ。
I will help you.

トムを入いれてあげて。
Let Tom in.

道案内みちあんないしてあげますよ。
I’ll show you the way.

５ご分ふん待まってあげるよ。
I’ll wait you five minutes.

他ほかのを買かってあげますよ。
I’ll buy you another one.

お茶ちゃを入いれてあげるね。
I’ll make tea for you.

彼女かのじょは本ほんを隣となりの人ひとにも見みせてあげた。
She shared her book with her neighbor.

彼かれに雑ざっ誌しを買かってあげました。
I bought him a magazine.

彼女かのじょは娘むすめのためにパソコンを買かってあげた。
She got her daughter a personal computer.

Notes:

①Don’t use 〜てあげる/てさしあげる directly to your superior，it is rude！
Instead，you can use something like
ペンをお貸かしします。
貸かす→貸かします（delete ます）→お + 貸かし + します

②But it will be perfectly fine to use it when you are talking with others what you did.(See the example below.)

先生せんせいを駅えきまで車くるまで送おくってさしあげた。
I drove the teacher to the station.
