Lesson 88: 〜と/に〜を重ねて

Usage:

Noun + と/に + Noun + をかさねて


Meaning:

「~と/に~を重ねて」is a grammar rule used to express that you did something over and over again and achieved something finally.
(You can use the same noun too)

Examples:

練習に練習を重ねて、ついに優勝した。
By practicing over and over again, I finally won the championship.
Renshuu ni renshuu o kasanete, tsuini yuushou shita.


失敗に失敗を重ねて、ようやく成功の方法が見えてきた。
After failing again and again, I finally found the way to succeed.
Shippai ni shippai o kasanete, youyaku seikou no houhou ga miete kita.


話し合いと話し合いを重ねて、やっと合意に達した。
Through repeated discussions, we finally reached an agreement.
Hanashiai to hanashiai o kasanete, yatto goui ni tasshita.


研究に研究を重ねて、新しいワクチンが完成した。
After repeated research, a new vaccine was developed.
Kenkyuu ni kenkyuu o kasanete, atarashii wakuchin ga kansei shita.


試行錯誤に試行錯誤を重ねて、完璧なレシピができた。
After countless trials and errors, I created the perfect recipe.
Shikou sakugo ni shikou sakugo o kasanete, kanpeki na reshipi ga dekita.


会議と会議を重ねて、最終的な計画が決まった。
After holding meeting after meeting, the final plan was decided.
Kaigi to kaigi o kasanete, saishuuteki na keikaku ga kimatta.


努力に努力を重ねて、夢を実現させた。
Through continuous effort, I made my dream come true.
Doryoku ni doryoku o kasanete, yume o jitsugen saseta.


挑戦と失敗を重ねて、自信を手に入れた。
By repeating challenges and failures, I gained confidence.
Chousen to shippai o kasanete, jishin o te ni ireta.


修正に修正を重ねて、ようやく納得のいく作品ができた。
After many revisions, I finally created a satisfying piece of work.
Shuusei ni shuusei o kasanete, youyaku nattoku no iku sakuhin ga dekita.


交渉と交渉を重ねて、良い条件で契約できた。
Through repeated negotiations, we were able to make a deal with good terms.
Koushou to koushou o kasanete, yoi jouken de keiyaku dekita.
