Lesson 28: 〜こともあって

Usage:

①Verb(Dictionary Form, Past Tense Form) + こともあって
②Te Form of Verb + いる + こともあって
③i-Adj + こともあって
④na-Adj + な + こともあって
⑤Noun + の + こともあって

Meaning:

「〜こともあって」means “partly because…”.
It’s used to express one reason.
There are more reasons, but the speaker just said one reason.

Examples:

脚きゃく本ほんがあまりよくなかったこともあって、このドラマの視し聴ちょう率りつは低ひくかった。
The audience rating of this TV show was low, partly because the script was not very good.

フランス語ごを勉べん強きょうしたこともあって、一いち度どはフランスに行いってみたいです。
I want to go to France once, partly because I have studied French before.
