Lesson 11: 〜(よ)うとも/くとも

Usage:

Volitional Form of Verb of とも
i-Adj (drop the い in the end) +  くとも


Meaning:

「〜(よ)うとも/くとも」means “no matter…”.

Examples:

はははどんなにつらくとも、けっしてぐちをわなかった。
My mother never complains no matter how painful she is.
 
だれ反対はんたいされようとも、ぶんただしいとおもみちすすみたい。
No matter who is against me, I want to follow the path I think is right.
