Lesson 2: 〜以外の何ものでもない

Usage:

Noun + がいなにものでもない


English Meaning:

「〜以外の何ものでもない」means “It’s nothing but xxx that”.
It’s used to emphasize something.

Japanese Meaning:

名詞と接続し、それ以外ではなくまさにそれだ、絶対にそれだと強調する場合に使われます。

Example Sentences:

冗談以外の何ものでもない。
It’s nothing but a joke.
 
それは私にしてみれば、無駄以外の何ものでもない。
For me, that is nothing but a waste.
