Lesson 73: 〜といわず〜といわず
Usage:
Noun + といわず + Noun + といわず
Meaning:
| 「～といわず～といわず」means “not only… but also”. Note: 「～といい～といい」 often follows subjective comments, while 「～といわず～といわず」 often follows objective truth. |
Examples:
| 部屋の中の物は、机といわず、椅子といわず、めちゃくちゃに壊されていた。 Not only desks but also the chairs, everything in the room was broken. 今の若者は休み時間といわず食事中といわずいつも携帯を離さない。 Young people nowadays just can’t leave their cell phones, not only during breaks but also during meals. |
