Usage 1:

Verb(Dictionary Form/Past Tense Form) + （が） + ごとき/ごとく/ごとし
Noun + の + ごとき/ごとく/ごとし

Meaning of Usage 1:

「〜ごとき/ごとく/ごとし」means “just like…”; “like…”.

Examples of Usage 1:

汗あせが滝たきのごとく流ながれてきた。
Sweat was flowing like a waterfall.

犯人はんにんは飛とぶがごとき勢いきおいで、逃にげ出だした。
The culprit escaped just like he flew.

光陰こういん矢やのごとし。
time flies like an arrow.

Usage 2:

Noun + ごとき

Meaning of Usage 2:

「Noun + ごとき」is used to be humble or to look down on others.

Examples of Usage 2:

私わたしの気持きもちが、あなたごときにわかるものか。
People like you can’t understand me.

私わたしごときにこんな大切たいせつな仕し事ごとができるものかと心配しんぱいです。
I am worried that is it possible for people like me to do such an important job.
