Meaning

In Japanese,梅 means “plum”.

How to read it:

Kunyomi:うめ
Onyomi:ばい

Kunyomi:
梅(うめ)干(ぼ)し→pickled plum
 
Onyomi:
寒梅(かんばい)→plum tree which blossoms in winter

Origin:

You can see the plum tree.
So 梅 means “plum”.
 
Note: There is some difference between Chinese kanji and Japanese kanji.
You should use Japanese kanji(Which is a 毎 on the right instead of a 每.)
