Usage:
Te Form of Verb + はじめて
Meaning:
「〜てはじめて」means “Only when I…did I…”. It’s often used to express that I got some new thinking after something happened. |
Examples:
外国で生活をしてはじめて、自分の国の良さがわかった。 Only when I lived in a foreign country did I understand the goodness of my country. 一人で暮らすようになってはじめて、家族がどんなにありがたいかがわかった。 Only when I lived alone did I know how grateful the family was. |
