Lesson 46: 〜っこない

Usage:

Polite Form of Verb(drop the ます in the end) + っこない


Meaning:

「〜っこない」means “It’s impossible to…”.
It’s often used in spoken Japanese.

Examples:

こんなよわ選手せんしゅばかりでは、つぎあいてっこない。
It’s impossible for us to win the next game if our players are weak.
 
毎日まいにちべんきょうするなんて、わたしにはできっこないよ。
It’s impossible for me to study every day.
