Lesson 37: 〜ずにはいられない/ないではいられない

Usage:

Type-1 Verb&Type-2 Verb:
Negative Form(drop the ない in the end) + ずにはいられない/ないではいられない
 
Type-3 Verb:
Dictionary Form(drop the する in the end) + せずにはいられない/しないではいられない


Meaning:

「〜ずにはいられない/ないではいられない」means “can’t help but…”.

Examples:

べんきょうしないといけない状況じょうきょうなのに、えいずにはいられない。
Although I need to study, I can’t help but watching movies.
 
こくすることがっているのに、二度寝にどねせずにはいられない。
Even though I know I’ll be late, I can’t help but going back to sleep.
