Usage:

Dictionary Form of Verb + あまり(に)
na-Adj +  な + あまり(に)
Noun + の + あまり(に)


Meaning:

「〜あまり(に)」is used to express that you overdo something and lead to a result.

Japanese Explanation:
〜すぎて
程度がすごいことを表す。

Examples:

かれしんちょうにするあまり、ついにしゅじゅつをした。
He was so care about his height that he finally had an operation.
 
かれ息子むすこのことが心配しんぱいなあまりに、よるねむれなくなってしまった。
He was so worried about his son that he couldn’t sleep at night.
 
プレゼンのとき、きんちょうのあまりちがえてしまった。
I was so nervous during the presentation that I made a mistake.

激務のあまり、疲れて仕事が捗らない。

高さのあまり足がすくむ。

美しさのあまり、彼女ばかりに目が行ってしまう。
