〜次第だ/次第で(は)

Usage 1:

Past Tense Form of Verb + だいだ/だい

イ-Adjective + だいだ/だい

ナ-Adjective + な + だいだ/だい

 

 

Meaning:

due to/because…(Used to explain something)

 

Examples:

じょうのようなだいで、らいしゅう社員しゃいん旅行りょこうえんにさせていただきます。

Due to the reasons above, next week’s employee trip will be postponed.

 

ちちびょうのため、じっ豆腐とうふいだだいだ。

I will take over the tofu shop because of my father’s illness.

 

Usage 2:

Noun + だいだ/だいで(は)

 

Meaning:

depends on…/up to…

 

Examples:

明日あしたハイキングにくかどうかは、てんだいだ。

It depends on the weather whether to go hiking tomorrow or not.

 

このぎょう成功せいこうするかはきみだいだよ!

The success of this business is up to you!

 

Notes:

1.だいで is used in the middle of sentence.

2.だいだ is used in the end of sentence.
