Usage 1:

Noun + に限かぎって/に限かぎり

Meaning of Usage 1:

「に限かぎって/に限かぎり」means “only…”.

Examples of Usage 1:

おはがきを送おくりくださった皆様みなさまの中なかから100名めい様さまに限かぎり、すてきな商しょう品ひんをプレゼントいたします。
Only 100 people will receive a wonderful product from those who send postcards.

毎まい週しゅう火か曜よう日びに限かぎって、映えい画がは半額はんがくになります。
The movie is half price only on every Tuesday.

Noun + に限かぎって

Meaning of Usage 2:

「に限かぎって」is used to express that it couldn’t have been at a worse time.

Examples of Usage 2:

大切たいせつな用よう事じがあって遅ち刻こくしてはいけない時ときに限かぎって、寝ね坊ぼうしてしまう。
I oversleep only when there is an important task and I can’t be late.

予よ習しゅうしていない時ときに限かぎって、先生せんせいに当あてられる。
I will be called on by the teacher only when I’m not preparing for anything.
