Lesson 9: ～てください/～ないでください

Usage:

Te Form of Verb + ください
Negative Form of Verb + でください

Meaning:

～てください →　Please do something.
～ないでください →　Please don’t do something.

Notes:
①If you forget Te Form of Verb, you can click here to review it.

③ください can be written as 下ください， they are the same. But ください is more often used.

Example Sentences:

探さがしてください。
Please look for it.

助たすけてください。
Please help me.

頑がん張ばってください。
Please do your best.

口くちを開あけてください。
Please open your mouth.

説明せつめいしてください。
Please explain it.

撃うたないでください！
Please don’t shoot!

動うごかないでください。
Please don’t move.

忘わすれないでください。
Please don’t forget.

行いかないでください。
Please don’t leave.

心配しんぱいしないでください。
Please don’t worry.

Note:

Don’t use ～てください to your superiors and strangers because it is not polite enough(It’s polite enough when you use it to your friends)
Instead, you can use ～てくださいませんか to your superiors and strangers.

道みちを教おしえてくださいませんか。
Could you please tell me how to get there?

声こえを小ちいさくしてくださいませんか？
Could you please lower your voice?

あの窓まどをしめてくださいませんか。
Could you please close that window?
