Lesson 28: 〜の中で〜いちばん

Usage:

①Noun1 + の中なかで + Noun2 + がいちばん〜

②Noun2 は Noun1 の中なかでいちばん〜

Meaning:

「Noun1 + の中なかで + Noun2 + がいちばん」and 「Noun2 は Noun1 の中なかでいちばん〜」means “Noun 2 is the most…of Noun 1”.

Notes:
①Please note that いちばん can be written as 一番いちばん too. They are the same.
②In order to help you practice reading kanji, the example sentences below are all written as 一番いちばん.

Example Sentences:

フルーツの中なかでバナナが一番いちばん安やすいです。
Banana is the cheapest fruits.

国くにの中なかで日に本ほんが一番いちばん好すきです。
Japan is my favorite country.

父ちちは私わたしたちの中なかで一番いちばん背せが高たかい。
My father is the tallest of us all.

彼女かのじょはクラスの中なかで一番いちばん足あしが速はやい。
She runs fastest in our class.

ケイトはクラスの中なかで一番いちばん歌うたが上じょう手ずです。
Kate is the best singer in my class.

家いえの中なかで一番いちばん長ながくいる場ば所しょはどこですか。
What room in your house do you spend the most time in?

高たか田ださんが私わたしたちみんなの中なかで一番いちばん裕福ゆうふくだ。
Takada is the richest out of all of us.

あなたの妹いもうとは私わたしの友ともだちの中なかで一番いちばん勤勉きんべんだ。
Your sister is the most diligent of all my friends.

メリーは、私わたしの同どう級きゅう生せいの中なかで一番いちばんの怠なまけ者ものです。
Merry is the laziest person in my class.

あなたの兄きょう弟だいの中なかで、誰だれが一番いちばん年上としうえですか？
Which one of your siblings is the oldest?

Note:

一番いちばん can be used to describe nouns directly. It means “best”.

この映えい画がは今いままで見みた中なかで一番いちばんだ。
This is the best movie I’ve ever seen.
