Lesson 25: 〜後（あと）/後で

Usage:

①Past Tense Form of Verb + 後あと/後あとで
②Noun + の + 後あと/後あとで

Meaning:

You use 「〜後あと/後あとで」 to express the order of two actions.
「Action A + 後あと/後あとで+ Action B 」 means “You need to do Action A before you do Action B”.

Example Sentences:

着ついた後あと電でん話わをくれ。
Call me once you’ve arrived.

大学だいがくを卒そつ業ぎょうした後あと何なにをしますか。
What are you going to do after graduating from college?

たくさん歩あるいた後あと、両りょう足あしが痛いたんだ。
My legs ached after the long walk.

３０さんじゅう分ぷん走はしった後あとでその車くるまは動うごかなくなった。
The car broke down after half an hour’s driving.

列車れっしゃが出でてしまった後あとで、私わたしは駅えきに着ついた。
I only got to the station after the train had left.

彼女かのじょは彼かれが出でていった後あとで彼かれの名な前まえを私わたしに教おしえてくれた。
She told me his name after he had left.

７しち時じに鳴なるように目め覚ざましを掛かけた後あとで、彼女かのじょは就しゅう寝しんした。
She went to bed, having set the alarm for seven.

仕し事ごとの後あと集あつまりたい？
Do you want to get together after work?

飯めしの後あと、俺おれは寝ね床どこについた。
I went to bed after eating.

夕飯ゆうはんの後あと、宿しゅく題だいをしました。
After dinner, I did my homework.

僕ぼくらは晩ばんご飯はんの後あと散さん歩ぽに出でた。
We went out for a walk after dinner.

私わたしはゲームをやった後あと、寝ねました。
I went to bed after I played games.

食しょく事じの後あとで、散さん歩ぽしませんか。
Would you like to take a walk after meal?

Below is the difference between 「〜てから」 and 「〜後あと/後あとで」.
