Lesson 6: あまり・あんまり~

Usage:

あまり・あんまり + Negative Expression


Meaning:

「あまり・あんまり」means “so…, very…, many…, much…, often…”.

Example Sentences:

あまりひとたよるな。
Don’t depend on other people too much.

あまり旅行りょこうしない。
I don’t travel very much.

あまりぎるな。
Don’t eat too much.

あまりかれいません。
I don’t meet him so often.

かれあまりほんまない。
He doesn’t read many books.

今日きょうあんまりあつくないね。
Today’s not even very hot.

数学すうがくあんまりきじゃない。
I don’t like mathematics very much.

ちちあんまり果物くだものべません。
My father does not eat much fruit.

あんまりいいしゅとはえないな。
You can’t say that it is a very good hobby.

ぼくあんまりいいダンサーではない。
I’m not a very good dancer.
