使=人+吏 。
人 means “people”,吏 looks like a cane,and it means “official”.
Officials will have other people do something for them, right?

  1. this kanji is very similar to koto, if you take a closer look. its like here the bottom hand evolved to be one stroke.
    so i remember it as a person using a tool (the same tool that appears in koto)
