Meaning of kanji 親:

In Japanese, 親 means “parent”.

Origin of kanji 親:

親=亲+見
亲=立+木
立 means “to stand”,木 means “tree”,見 means “to see”.
When you lost your way, your parents will worry about you, and they will stand at the tree so that they can see you.
