In this lesson, I will teach you how to use the particle から.
Function 1: Starting Point
If you want to express the starting point(time/space), you can use something like below.
Starting Point + から
Example Sentences:
| 私は日本から来ました。 I came from Japan. 彼は教室から出ました。 He got out of the classroom. あしたから夏休みです。 Tomorrow is Summer vacation. 来年から大学に行きます。 I will go to college from next year. |
Function 2: The Giver of Things or Information
If you want to mark the giver of things or information, you can use something like below.
Giver + から + Verb
Giver + から + の + Noun
Example Sentences:
| 田中さんから本をもらいました。 I got a book from Mr. Tanaka. 先生から質問を出しました。 The teacher asked a question. 私から説明します。 I will explain it. 友達から電話が来た。 My friend called me. これは姉からのプレゼントです。 This is a gift from my older sister. |

Can it also be written as 彼は教室を出ました？
It’s weird. Because を is used to describe [small place to large place], but if you went out from classroom, the place is not that large.
