Meaning:

In Japanese,効 means “be effective”.

Kunyomi:き
Onyomi:こう


How to write it:


Origin:

You can see a man who is crossing his legs.
He can be effective because he is relaxed this way.
So 効 means “be effective”.

Note:
There is some difference between Chinese kanji and Japanese kanji. You should use Japanese kanji, which has a 力 on the right.
