Meaning:

In Japanese,汚 means “dirty”.


How to read it:

Kunyomi:きたな、よご
Onyomi:お


How to write it:


Origin:

You can see a river and a mark.
This mark means “to be blocked”.
If the river is blocked for some reason,
it will become dirty.
So 汚 means “dirty”.

Note:
There is some difference between Chinese kanji and Japanese kanji,
