Notes:
| （1）「おやすみ」is for friends and family, and 「おやすみなさい」 is for when you want to be a bit more polite. Quick tip: use 「おやすみ」 with friends, and 「おやすみなさい」 with people you’d call Mr. or Ms. （2）「さようなら」 is used when you don’t expect to see the other person again for a while—like when you’re moving on to a new stage in life. If you’re saying goodbye to a professor or someone senior, it’s more natural to say 「しつれいします」 instead. （3）If you want to say goodbye with your friends and family, just use 「また あした」or 「じゃあ、また」. |
