  2. When learning the katakana “shi” make sure it is very accurate, because the katakana “tsu” is VERY similar.

  3. How did イエス come to sound ‘ jesus’ ? I hear it like iesu.

      I have no idea, maybe it’s because of some history reasons, for example, some Japanese misread this vocabulary and then this pronunciation spread

    2. Just a guess, but I do know “Jesus” is pronounced “Yesus” in Indonesia, which is a former Dutch colony (source: Indonesian family). The Dutch did a lot of trade with Japan throughout history. My guess, both Japan and Indonesia got their pronunciation from primarily the Dutch.
