How to say “this person, that person, who” in Japanese?
| Word | Explanation |
| こちら/この方/この人 | こちら/この方/この人 means 【this person】 → the person close to the speaker but far from the listener |
| そちら/その方/その人 | そちら/その方/その人: means 【that person】 → the person close to the listener but far from the speaker |

| どちらさま/どの方/どの人/誰 | どちらさま/どの方/どの人/誰: means 【who】 → The person you don’t know |
Examples:
This person is my guest. That person is my guest. That person is my guest. Who’s this guy? May I ask your name? Who are you? |
Notes:
| 1.こっち/そっち/あっち is an informal way to say こちら/そちら/あちら |
