Lesson 4: Saying “Who” in Japanese
In this lesson, I will teach you how to say “who” in Japanese.
In Japanese, you can use どちらさま、どなた and 誰 to say “Who”.
Examples:
| どちらさまでしょうか。 Who are you? どなたですか。 Who are you? 君は誰?(it’s a little bit rude) Who are you? 彼は誰ですか。 Who is he? |
Notes:
| ①どちらさま is the most polite way to say who, and どなた is more polite than 誰. ②でしょうか is a formal way to say ですか. |
