Is there a difference in the levels of stupidity between 馬鹿 and 馬鹿馬鹿しい? Does the latter sound worse?
I have also heard that the origin of 馬鹿 (horse dear) comes from a test placed in front of a (Chinese?) emperor. That someone presented a deer in front of the emperor and called it a horse. Whoever disagreed/corrected them was sentenced to death. Do you might know of this story/legend?
馬鹿馬鹿しい is stronger. Yeah, I know that story!
