Usage:

Past Tense Form of Verb + ほうが + …
Negative Form of Verb + ほうが + …

Meaning:
You use 〜ほうが when you want to give some advice or suggestions to someone.
It means “You’d better…”.

Note:
Usually,いい is used after the ほうが,Which is 〜ほうがいい.

Example:

ったほうがいいですよ。
You’d better wait.

Voice:

そんなことをしないほうがいいです。
You’d better not do something like that.

Voice:

なにもわないほうが賢明けんめいです。
It would be wiser not to say anything.
