Lesson 5: Existence Sentence

In this lesson, I will teach you the last sentence structure: Existence Sentence.


Existence Sentence is sentence like below:

Topic(person or animal) + + Place + + います

Topic(thing) + + Place + + あります

わたしきょうしつにいます。
I’m in the classroom.

かれはイギリスにいます。
He is in England.

彼女かのじょはコンビニにいます。
She is in the convenience store.

ほんはデスクのうえにあります。
The book is on the desk.

Explanation:

In this sentence:
きょうしつ and デスクのうえ are places.
②に is the particle that is used to mark the place where somebody or something exists.
