Lesson 4: Adjective-predicate Sentence

In this lesson, I will teach you the third sentence structure: Adjective-predicate Sentence.

Adjective-predicate Sentence is sentence like below:
Topic + は + Adjective + です.

私わたしは忙いそがしいです。
I’m busy.

このゲームは面白おもしろいです。
This game is interesting.

彼女かのじょはきれいです。
She is beautiful.

彼かれは真面目まじめです。
He is serious.

私わたしたちは強つよいです。
We are strong.

Explanation:

In the first sentence:
忙いそがしい is the adjective, and of course, is the predicate.

Dimensions:

Below are two images to help you make sentences with three Japanese sentence dimensions.

na-adj

Examples:

このテストは簡単かんたんではない。
This test is not easy.

今日きょうは寒さむいです。
It’s cold today.

彼かれはかっこいい。
He is handsome.

この方法ほうほうは有効ゆうこうです。
This method works.

田た中なかさんは優ゆう秀しゅうです。
Mr. Tanaka is excellent.
