Imperative Form

In this lesson,I will teach you how to convert Japanese verbs to Imperative Form.

How to change Japanese Verbs to Imperative Form?

Verb TypeHow to convert?
type-one verbchange the u-hiragana in the end to e-hiragana in the same column.

Example:
う→
type-two verbchange る in the end to ろ.

Example:
べる→べろ
type-three verbchange する in the end to しろ.

Example:
べんきょうする→べんきょうしろ
irregular verbる→
する→しろ

Note:

It’s not polite to use Imperative Form to your superiors.
You can only use Imperative Form to your friends or subordinates.
If you want to ask somebody do something in a polite way, you can use
Te Form of Verb + いただけませんか。

      Te form is more polite than Imperative Form.If you want to give a command, use Imperative Form, If you want to give a request, use Te Form
