ずっと

Meaning:

「ずっと」means “always”, “have been doing…”, “all…”, “remain…”.

Note: When it is used to describe the difference between two things or two people, it means “much…”.


Examples:

かれずっといそがしい。
He is always busy.

あさずっといえにいた?
Were you at home all morning?

昨日きのうからずっとさむい。
It has been cold since yesterday.

ずっとってたんだ。
I‘ve been waiting a long time.

かれずっとだまっていた。
He remained silent.

ずっと友達ともだちでいようね。
Let’s always be friends.

かれはトムよりずっとわかい。
He’s much younger than Tom.

彼女かのじょわたしよりずっとたかい。
She is much taller than I.

かれはケンよりずっと年上としうえです。
He is much older than Ken.

このほんはあのほんよりずっと面白おもしろい。
This book is much more interesting than that one.
